Permanent Brow FAQs

(Microblading & Microshading)

What is permanent makeup for brows?

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattoo technique used to enhance the appearance of your brows. Using precise methods such as microblading or shading, pigment is implanted into the skin to create fuller, natural-looking brows.

What is the difference between microblading and shading?

  • Microblading creates fine, hair-like strokes for a natural look

  • Shading (microshading) creates a soft, powdered or filled-in effect

During your appointment, we will recommend the best technique based on your skin type and desired result.

Will my brows look natural?

Yes. Our goal is to create brows that enhance your natural features—not overpower them. Each set is custom-mapped and designed specifically for your face.

Does permanent makeup hurt?

A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe the sensation as light pressure or mild discomfort.

How long does the appointment take?

Appointments typically take 2–3 hours, which includes consultation, brow mapping, and the procedure.

How long do results last?

Results typically last 1–3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Touch-ups help maintain color and shape over time.

What is the healing process like?

Healing takes about 7–10 days, with full results visible in 4–6 weeks.

You may experience:

  • Initial darkening

  • Light scabbing or flaking

  • A temporary fading (ghosting phase)

  • Color returning softer and more natural

Everyone heals differently.

Will I need a touch-up?

Yes. A 4–6 week touch-up is required to perfect your results and ensure proper pigment retention.

Is the touch-up included?

Yes, your touch-up is included if completed within 8 weeks of your initial appointment.

After 8 weeks, the appointment will be considered a maintenance session and will require an additional fee.

Why do I lose color after my first session?

It is normal to lose approximately 30% of the pigment during healing. This is your body naturally processing the pigment. The touch-up session restores and perfects the final result.

Can my brows heal uneven?

Yes, slight unevenness during healing is normal. Some areas may retain more pigment than others.

This is corrected during your touch-up appointment.

Who is not a candidate for permanent makeup?

You may not be a good candidate if you:

  • Are pregnant or nursing

  • Have certain skin conditions in the brow area

  • Are taking medications that affect healing

  • Have very sensitive or compromised skin

If you are unsure, we recommend booking a consultation prior to scheduling.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24 hours before your appointment

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications (if medically appropriate)

  • Do not wax or tint your brows immediately before

  • Come with your brows in their natural state

Full preparation instructions will be provided after booking.

Can I wear makeup after my appointment?

Avoid applying makeup directly on the brow area until fully healed (7–10 days). You may resume normal makeup use after that period.

When will I see my final results?

Your brows will fully heal and settle after your 4–6 week touch-up. This is when your final shape and color are complete.

How do I book an appointment?

All appointments must be scheduled online. This allows you to select your service and receive all necessary instructions prior to your visit.
