Permanent Brow Aftercare Instructions
Aftercare & Healing Expectations
It is completely normal for your brows to go through multiple healing stages, including slight puffiness, darkness, scabbing, lightening, and temporary fading, often referred to as the “ghosting” phase. These are expected parts of the process.
Brows cannot be accurately assessed during the healing period. Final results are not visible until the full 4-week healing cycle is complete.
Once the brows are fully healed, you may decide whether you would like to schedule an additional touch-up based on your personal healed results and desired fullness. Because every client’s skin heals differently, additional sessions are not included.
For this reason, we do not assess or respond to questions regarding color, shape, or fading during the healing process.
First 7–10 Days: Keep Brows Clean & Dry
For optimal healing, we recommend a dry healing process.
Avoid getting your brows wet
Do not apply any products unless necessary
If your brows accidentally get wet, gently pat dry and allow them to air dry
Do not allow water to sit or remain on the brows
👉 The less you do, the better your results will be
Scabbing & Flaking
Light scabbing or flaking is normal
Do NOT pick, scratch, or peel
Allow all flakes and scabs to fall off naturally
⚠️ Picking can lead to:
Patchy results
Pigment loss
Possible scarring
Ointment Use (Only If Needed)
If scabbing feels uncomfortable, you may apply a very small amount of A&D ointment
Use no more than a grain-of-rice size for both brows
👉 If your brows are not bothering you, no ointment is needed
👉 Dry healing typically produces the best results
Healing Stages (What to Expect)
Everyone heals differently. You may experience all, some, or none of these stages:
1. Darkening
Brows may appear darker immediately after your service
(This is normal as pigment settles into the skin)
2. Scabbing / Flaking
Light scabs or flakes will form and naturally fall off
3. Ghosting Phase (Light or Faded Appearance)
Brows may appear very light or seem to disappear
(This is temporary and part of the healing process)
👉 If desired, you may lightly fill in your brows with pencil after 7 days
4. Color Returns (Softer & More Natural)
Brows will gradually reappear and soften in color
Expect to lose approximately 30% of the initial color
This is normal as your body naturally processes the pigment
Uneven Healing
As your brows heal, you may notice:
Some areas fading more than others
Slight unevenness in color
👉 This is completely normal
Your perfecting session (touch-up) is where we:
Adjust shape if needed
Reinforce color
Perfect any areas that healed unevenly
Touch-Up Appointment (Important)
A touch-up is required to complete your results.
Recommended timeframe:
4–6 weeks after your initial appointment
Touch up booked past 10 weeks are maintenance touch ups
