Eyeliner Tattoo

AFTERCARE

First 24 Hours

  • Gently blot the area every 15–30 minutes with a clean tissue to remove any lymph fluid.

  • Do not wash, touch, or apply any ointment during this time unless otherwise instructed.

Day 2–7: Cleanse & Heal

  1. Cleanse once daily:

    • Use a damp cotton pad or lint-free wipe with sterile water or a mild, fragrance-free cleanser (e.g., Cetaphil).

    • Gently dab—do not rub or saturate.

    • Pat dry with a clean tissue.

  2. Apply ointment:

    • Use a clean cotton swab to apply a very thin layer of the healing ointment (Aquaphor or artist-recommended balm).

    • Apply once or twice a day—no more.

    • Avoid over-applying, which may cause irritation or pigment loss.

What to Avoid

  • No eye makeup (mascara, eyeliner, shadow) for 7–10 days.

  • No rubbing, scratching, or picking—let flaking happen naturally.

  • No contact lenses for at least 72 hours post-procedure.

  • No excessive sweating, steam rooms, saunas, or swimming.

  • No lash growth serums or lash extensions during healing.

Healing Expectations

  • Eyeliner may appear bold or dark initially—this will soften as it heals.

  • Mild swelling or tightness is normal for 1–2 days.

  • Some clients experience minor flaking—do not pull or peel.

After 10 Days

  • You may resume makeup and normal skincare, but always be gentle around the eyes.

  • Always remove makeup with oil-free removers.

Long-Term Care

  • Avoid exfoliating acids, retinols, or chemical peels on the eyelids.

  • Always apply sunscreen on the face (wear sunglasses to protect the eyes).

  • Results typically last 2–3 years, depending on skin and lifestyle.

  • A touch-up may be needed at 4-6 weeks to perfect the result.
