AFTERCARE
To ensure optimal healing and long-lasting results, follow these steps carefully for the first 7–10 days after your tattoo:
1. Keep the Area Clean & Dry
Gently cleanse the area once daily with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and lukewarm water.
Pat dry with a clean tissue—do not rub.
Avoid soaking the face or direct water streams. Use a damp cloth to wash around the area.
2. Apply Healing Ointment (If Recommended)
Use a rice grain-sized amount of the ointment (Aquaphor or a provided balm) once a day.
Do not over-apply, as excess moisture can affect pigment retention.
If your artist did not advise using ointment, allow the freckles to dry-heal naturally.
3. Avoid the Following for 7–10 Days
No makeup, foundation, or concealer on or near the tattooed area.
No touching, scratching, or picking—freckles will slightly darken and then soften as they heal.
No excessive sweating or workouts that cause facial perspiration.
No tanning, sun exposure, saunas, steam, or swimming.
4. Expect Some Changes
Freckles may look darker or bolder in the first few days—this is normal.
As healing progresses, the freckles will soften and lighten, blending into a natural look.
Some flaking or minor scabbing may occur; do not peel it off.
5. Long-Term Care
Once healed, always apply sunscreen (SPF 30+) to protect pigment from fading.
Avoid chemical peels or aggressive exfoliation over the area.
Results can last 6 months to 3 years, depending on skin type and lifestyle.
Touch-Ups
A perfecting session is typically recommended 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment to reinforce color and shape.
